    Stars who collect NFT

iscovering the great collectors of the star system, who drive real trends with their NFT purchases

The biggest stars on the planet are increasingly involved in the world and the NFT market, driving up project prices through multi-million dollar acquisitions.

In showing their entry into the market and the NFT projects of these stars, social networks such as Twitter and then Instagram play a key role, ensuring immediate engagement of the crypto community and influencing entry choices in certain projects.

Here are the big names of stars who collect NFTs:

    FAZE BANKS

American video gamer who achieved popularity with videos on Youtube. Having achieved success on the platform, he decided to found his own agency the “Faze Clan” which to date is one of the giants of American e-sports. JAKE PAUL

A professional boxer, he is one of the most followed Vloggers on YouTube. Paul achieved notoriety in the crypto world because his recent defeat in the ring was minted in the form of NFTs. Earlier this year, Jake’s older brother Logan Paul made over $5 million from the sale of NFTs, since then Jake has also become an avid collector.

His wallet boasts collections such as The League of Sacred Devil, Humanoids or Surreal.

    SNOOP DOGG

The American rapper is part of the so-called “whale” among the big collectors in the crypto and NFT world.

He owns one of the largest collections in the world, with a collection estimated at 20 million dollars. A few months ago it was discovered that he is behind the pseudonym Cozomo De Medici, with which he interacts on his Twitter profile. His collection boasts the presence of millionaire projects in the NFT world such as Doodles, BAYAC, Meebits as well as works of Generative Art such as Art Blocks and Chromie Squiggle.

    JAY-Z

An American pop star and entrepreneur, he is an avid art collector who has also gotten into the NFT world. Unlike Snoop Dogg, he doesn’t like to talk about himself or his collection, but his Twitter profile picture speaks for itself: it’s Crypto Punk #6095. He debuted in the NFT world in 2021 with the sale of his album in the form of a non-fungible token through Sotheby’s auction house.

Jay-Z has a very quirky collection, he doesn’t follow market trends or the hottest collections, while many of his acquisitions are NFTs that feature physical traits of the rapper.

And you, what NFT collector do you want to be?

May I love you? The NFT by Emiliano Ponzi and Giuliano Sangiorgi for Valentine’s Day on SuperRare

May I love you? The NFT by Emiliano Ponzi and Giuliano Sangiorgi for Valentine’s Day on SuperRare

Emiliano Ponzi, illustrator among the most appreciated and requested at an Italian and international level, and Giuliano Sangiorgi, the voice of Negramaro, worked to create three digital works of art, dedicated to the theme of the kiss.

The Milanese creative Emiliano Ponzi, who in his career has signed illustrations for newspapers and publishers such as the New York Times, Le Monde, the New Yorker, the moma of New York, Der Spiegel, Penguin Books or Feltrinelli, international brands such as Bulgari, Armani, Lamborghini, Barilla and for the likes of Murakami, this time decided to animate his illustrations, to set them and give them life through the unmistakable voice of Giuliano Sangiorgi of Negramaro.

Three scenes with a cinematic feel, ephemeral but at the same time perfectly recognizable in the emotions of each one of us.

The three NFT works are 3 video loops, composed of a refined animated illustration produced by Ponzi and set to music by Sangiorgi, with drop the next 14 February on the marketplace SuperRare specialized in selling unique NFT.

    ABOUT EMILIANO PONZI

Emiliano Ponzi is an italian awarded artist, painter and illustrator. He lives between Milan and New York. His works appeared on some of the most prestigious publisher in the world such as the New York Times, Le Monde, The New Yorker, Der Spiegel, Esquire, Penguin Books and others. He has won multiple medals of honor (gold and silver) from the Society of Illustrators New York, recognitions from Print, How International Design Award, Communication Arts Illustration Annuals, American Illustration 3×3 Magazine Pro show. He’s considered one of the greatest illustrators of his generation.

The drop is curated by the journalist and critic Giacomo Nicolella Maschietti, texts and concept are signed by Federico Bottino, author and communication expert, while Andrea Concas and Art Rights, an innovative Italian company and leader in the sector of digital arts and NFT, are supporting and promoting the project.

Emiliano Ponzi and Giuliano Sangiorgi take us on a journey along the wait for the kiss. Crossing with a glimpse of imagination three moments of sweet hope, three universal expectations that are opposed to the dramatic expectation of farewell. It is by experiencing this tension that fills space and time that people can experience moments of pure happiness. To then consume it in a kiss, experience a moment of happiness, filling the time and space that separates them from their desires.

Three glimpses of lives, made up of wait and slow movements, of people clinging to the sweet hope of reaching the lips of their beloved, before it’s too late. Or too soon.

“The moment is about to explode. Before witnessing a real explosion, you can feel it in the air. It attracts towards itself gently. You feel it happening. Suddenly, you realize that, for the first time, you are no longer afraid. ” This work represents the explosive force of the first encounters, the first expectations, young hopes destined to burn. For a while or forever.

#2 – “The expectation of a revolution makes more noise than the revolution itself. When this happens, it goes away in a flash. It fades into moments of dance, in the light of bodies that are finally free to be love. ” In this work, the artists portray a moment in which love has managed to write the pages of a more just history, which accepts love for what it is: pride in loving and the hope of being loved. Nothing more. Nothing less.

#3 – “The wait does not begin with a kiss but with the desire to meet you again. We have waited too long. How much we desired each other. Now we are here. I feel you.” In this work the artists represent the intimacy of meeting again. The beauty of finding themselves the day after losing each other. To finally feel alive again. United.

Louvre and Sotheby’s together to return stolen works of art

Louvre and Sotheby’s together to return stolen works of art

The two institutions will work side by side to clarify the provenance of the museum’s acquisitions

The Louvre Museum, one of the institutions with the most important art collection in the world, will be joined by the specialist team of the Sotheby’s auction house to investigate the provenance of the works acquired between 1933 and 1945.

A research that “could lead to returns, as well as to improve digitization processes and encourage the organization of seminars, study days and publications”, explains the Louvre in a press release.

The collaboration between the two will last 3 years and is part of a study plan on their collection which includes over 300,000 pieces of Egyptian, Greek and Roman archeology as well as nearly 12,000 paintings.

The effort is added to the program of analysis and restitution of works stolen by the Nazis and merged into the museum collection, which last year allowed the discovery of 1,700 works recovered in Germany after the Second World War and never returned to the descendants of the legitimate owners.

The relationship between the two great protagonists of the art world is not accidental, because as the official statement reads: «This patronage echoes the commitment of Sotheby’s for the return of works that changed hands between 1933 and 1945. It is was the first international auction house to have a department dedicated to the search and restitution of provenance ».

A collaboration that will make it possible to clarify a very controversial historical period, and which could lead to the return of great masterpieces long gone from their legitimate owners.

The collection includes two different drops: the first part of “Censored” consists of a public auction of a single edition NFT, characterized by a timer that counts the number of days Assange spent in prison.

The second part of the sale is a game on the concept of selling “pay what you want”. Users can tokenize a message to create an NFT that will be part of the open edition of “Censored“.

The ZKM museum has lost 2 NFT in the Ether

The ZKM museum has lost 2 NFT in the Ether

One of the most famous German digital art museums has lost access to the 2 CryptoPunks in its collection

The museum protagonist of the unfortunate story is the ZKM Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe. Within the museum collection there were, among the numerous digital works, also the two CryptoPunks that now seem to have been lost forever.

The works had been purchased in 2017 by software programmer and cryptography expert Daniel Heiss, who had managed to purchase 4 of them for $ 100 each thanks to a crypto mining facility built for the Open Codes exhibition.

However, Heiss, attempting to send two of these CryptoPunks to another blockchain address, accidentally burned the works by sending them to visible but inaccessible wallets. The present value of the two lost NFTs corresponds to approximately 120 ETH.

“The transfer of the punks was a stupid copy / paste mistake,” Heiss says. “But seen another way, it’s sort of a statement of what blockchain and cryptography are. The museum’s purpose was never to sell the works anyway.”

Currently, the two punks are forever stuck in the smart contract address of the Larva Labs producers, a no-man’s land where they are visible to everyone but no longer exchangeable.

Heiss adds “So seen in another way, the two punks are ours forever, verifiably inaccessible, because the CryptoPunks smart contract address can be seen as a so-called ‘nothing number’.”

Artwork by Van Dyck purchased for only $90

Artwork by Van Dyck purchased for only $90

In 1976, art historian Christopher Wright bought the alleged copy of a portrait of the well-known painter Anthony van Dyck for just $ 90.

After receiving a visit from Colin Harrison, senior curator of European art at the Ashmolean Museum di Oxford, everything changed: impressed by the quality of the work, Harrison advised Wright to have the painting examined and restored at the London Courtauld Institute of Art Londra.

The result? Experts have stated that it could be an original work by the Flemish painter, the portrait of Isabella Clara Eugenia, ruler of the Spanish Netherlands from 1598 to 1621.

“The skillful skill leads us to tentatively propose that [it] can be attributed to Van Dyck’s laboratory and that it was completed during his lifetime and under his supervision,” reads a report by Kendall Francis and Timothy. McCall.

The work, created by Van Dyck probably between 1628 and 1632, could be worth up to $ 54,000, but Wright wants it to end up in a public institution.

A long-term loan of the work is currently underway to the Cannon Hall Museum di Barnsley, which specializes in 17th-century Dutch and Flemish paintings.

NFT by Givenchy in collaboration with the Mexican artist Chito

NFT by Givenchy in collaboration with the Mexican artist Chito

Under the direction of Creative Director Matthew M. Williams, Givenchy enters digital fashion with a new NFT collection

Per la seconda volta il duo formato dal direttore creativo di Givenchy Matthew M. Williams e l’artista messicano Chito lavorano insieme alla nuova serie artistica che include 15 NFT con personaggi e simboli aerografati.

For the second time, the duo formed by Givenchy creative director Matthew M. Williams and Mexican artist Chito are working together on the new art series that includes 15 NFTs with airbrushed characters and symbols.

“I wanted to explore this exciting new NFT space,” said Matthew M. Williams. “The fact that Chito is already active in the ecosystem made it even more natural for us to collaborate on this limited series and take our collective vision of Givenchy even further.”

    Courtesy Givenchy

Along with these was also presented a unique series of emblematic garments of the famous fashion house such as T-shirts, jackets and accessories. All elements are characterized by pop-inspired motifs, the typical characters of Chito, such as the dog from his favorite cartoon “Truehearted” and the “4G Heart”.

Williams confirmed: “Chito was an ideal collaborator because we share that storyline; we speak the same language. Like me, he expresses his distinct visual signatures through one-of-a-kind pieces that give people total freedom to make their creations their personal statement. “

The NFTs created can be used as PFP – profile images – a phenomenon that originates with the spread of collectibles. Practice that involves the use of one’s NFT avatar as a profile image within social media, first of all Twitter.

Courtesy press office Givenchy e Chito

The NFTs of Givenchy and Chito went up for auction on the OpenSea platform on November 23, 2021, generating a volume of 46.1 ETH.

All the proceeds from the sale were donated to The Ocean Cleanup foundation, which has long been collaborating with the maison, a foundation that works to protect the oceans from the increasingly concrete threat of plastic.

The fashion house Givenchy is not the only one to have approached the NFT world in recent times: among these also Dolce & Gabbana which created a digital gold dress sold at an auction for one million dollars; or 620 sneakers produced by RTFKT Studios sold for a total of three million dollars in 7 minutes and the Baby Birkin decorated by Mason Rothschild and Eric Ramirez sold for over $ 23,000.

NFTs and fashion are starting to collaborate more and more closely and the numbers do not lie: virtual fashion will not be tangible, but projects are increasingly widespread.
