Madonna owns a painting that belongs to the city of Amiens

In the collection of the singer Madonna there is a painting that disappeared from France a century ago. Now the mayor of Amiens is asking for a loan of the work .

From the Amiens Museum to the Madonna Salon “. With this title, the French newspaper Le Figarò published an investigative article a few days ago, which tells of the disappearance and then the fortuitous discovery of the work “Diana and Endymion” by the French painter Jérôme -Martin Langlois .

THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE PAINTING FROM AMIENS

According to the investigation by the journalist Eric Biétry-Rivierre, the work was commissioned to the artist Jérôme -Martin Langlois in 1819 by the French king Louis XVIII, then exhibited in the Palace of Versailles, the ancient residence of the kings of France a few kilometers from Paris. In 1873 it was bought by the French state, ending up in the Louvre Museum in Paris.

In 1918 the painting disappeared during the bombing of the city of Amiens during the First World War, where it was displayed in the museum.

THE PAINTING IN THE MADONNA COLLECTION

World-renowned pop star Madonna, who just announced a new world tour “Madonna The Celebration Tour”, is an avid art lover and collector.

His collection boasts works by Frida Kahlo, Jean Michel Basquiat – with whom he has had a long relationship – and many other masterpieces displayed in the many residences he owns.

Often the houses are sets for photo shoots for Madonna’s interviews and, according to what was reconstructed by Le Figarò, a curator of the Amiens Museum saw some photos published in 2015 by the magazine Paris Match on the occasion of an interview with Madonna.

In the photo, behind the singer, a large canvas is partially visible: Diana and Endymion by the French painter Jérôme -Martin Langlois.

According to the investigation, the painting was duly acquired by Madonna in 1989 for $1.3 million at an auction at Sotheby’s.

THE APPEAL OF THE MAYOR OF AMIENS

The mayor of Amiens, Brigitte Fouré, in a video message posted on Facebook, asked Madonna to loan the work for 2028.

We ask you to lend it to us at least for the exhibition that will take place in 2028 when we will be European capital of culture ”.

No response has been received from Madonna at the moment.

San Francisco MoMA collects its first NFT

San Francisco MoMA collects its first NFT

San Francisco’s MoMA has acquired its first NFT, a work entitled “ Final Transformation #2” by artist Lynn Hershman Leeson.

THE NFT WORK ACQUIRED IN THE COLLECTION

The final work Transformation #2 is a clip from Leeson’s 1997 film “ Conceiving Ada,” starring actress Tilda Swinton as mathematician Ada Lovelace, who wrote the first computer program in the 19th century.

One of the two existing editions of the work was donated to SFMOMA by Altman Siegel Gallery and Lynn Hershman Leeson to be auctioned at the museum in 2022 as part of the Art Bash Auction, an annual auction that raises funds for community education and outreach.

THE NEW ACQUISITIONS OF THE MOMA MUSEUM OF SAN FRANCISCO

San Francisco’s MoMA new acquisitions policy has seen as many as 62 new works of art enter the collection, including historic pieces by artists such as Wayne Thiebaud and Cindy Sherman. As many as 18 works from the new acquisitions concern unpublished artists, including the NFT Final Transformation #2 by Lynn Hershman Leeson.

THE STATEMENT OF THE DIRECTOR OF THE MUSEUM

Christopher Bedford, Director of MoMA San Francisco said: “These recent acquisitions represent an incredible range of artistic vision and capture SFMOMA’s commitment to collecting works by artists from around the world. I am grateful to the SFMOMA curatorial team for their vision and ongoing dedication to expanding the voices and narratives represented in our collection.”

    NFTs IN ITALIAN MUSEUMS

In Italy, there is still a long way to go in the acquisition of NFT works of art. We will have to wait for 2026 to see the birth of the already announced National Digital Art Museum of Milan, which already has its director identified in the figure of Ilaria Bonacossa, who has been working tirelessly for over a year to build solid foundations for the museum.

Collector Stefan Simchowitz opens an art gallery

    Stefan Simchowitz

The collector and gatekeeper Stefan Simchowitz , seen by art market insiders as one of the biggest art flippers, has decided to start his own art gallery with a group of artists to discover.

The news is not that recent, but it came back to the lights the roster of the Simchowitz Gallery on social media a few hours ago.

The name of the collector Stefan Simchowitz does not go unnoticed by the most experienced in the art market.

Described by the New York Times as “The Satanic Patron of the Art World”, Simchowitz was unscrupulous enough about overriding the work of galleries to become the gatekeeper of very young, unprepared artists by implementing strategies of a seasoned flipper, as the expert Georgina Adam also recounts in her book “Dark Side of the Boom”.

    WHAT IS ART FLIPPING

Art Flipping has been defined by experts as “ the gambling of the art market ”.

This a speculative practice often implemented by a small group of collectors who intend to create immediate profit in the shortest possible time to the detriment of the artists involved, often emerging and without a solid career path, who are part of a real speculative bubble ready to explode.

It is October 2020 when, in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, Stefan Simchowitz turns 50 and, rethinking the path of one of the greatest gallerists Leo Castelli – he too a collector and became a gallery owner at the age of 50 – chooses to take the same path, but with a very different past behind them.

Stefan Simchowitz ‘s work as a collector has often been dismissed by artists, galleries and dealers as that of a speculator, ready to implement art flipping strategies in order to see the prices of newly acquired young artists rise immeasurably and very quickly.

In March 2021 the turning point, with the inauguration of the Simchowitz Gallery in Los Angeles and the desire declared in an interview with Christina Ruiz for The Art Newspaper to support young artists with the opportunity for new exhibition opportunities .

A different approach to the work of a gallery owner in the will of Stefan Simchowitz : no waiting lists, the collectors who arrive first have the right to buy the works, and the group of artists part of the gallery also offers services such as studios and spaces to work.

NEW LIFE FOR THE SIMCHOWITZ GALLERY

Since the opening of the Simchowitz Gallery, twelve exhibitions of as many artists have been inaugurated, for 2023 two exhibitions have already been announced.

Elizabeth opens in Pasadena Ibarra with “ Blue Hymn: Prelude ” and January 14 in West Hollywood is the turn of Cameron Platter with the exhibition “ More or Less ”.

The list of artists who will collaborate with Stefan Simchowitz ‘s gallery has also been announced, including Gene A’Hern, Craig Boagey, Alic Brock, Lawrence Calver and Attukwei Montana to name a few, all heavily devoted to the pictorial medium.

All that remains is to monitor the career of these artists and find out if the magic touch and the eye of Stefan Simchowitz will have prevailed on the market…

The NFT Magazine 2023: news for the collector’s monthly

The NFT Magazine, the first monthly magazine to be read and collect in Ethereum, after the success of the first roadmap, marks an important new beginning in 2023.

The NFT Magazine, which in 2022 produced an incredible twelve collector’s issues with covers made by world-renowned crypto artists such as HACKATAO, COLDIE, REFIK ANADOL, OSINACHI and many others, has been constantly working to push itself further, supported by the increasingly growing Community of Readers passionate.

With The NFT Magazine it is possible to discover the biggest players in the Crypto world, market trends, interviews with experts and analyzes of everything that happens in the crypto world and beyond.

All collectors of The NFT Magazine covers can access the “Readers Club” to participate in planning the following issues by choosing the topics to be covered, the rankings, the interviews and the artists of the covers, thus becoming real protagonists.

The NFT Magazine has taken the phygital vision of publishing to another level. In November 2022, on the idea and project of The NFT Magazine, CRYPTO ART – Begins was published in Italy, by Rizzoli, a book that tells the exciting movement of Crypto Art through the history and works of 50 crypto artists. Distribution in all bookstores in the United States will take place in September 2023.

The news for the new year isn’t finished, actually, they DOUBLE UP!

The NFT Magazine evolves thanks to the double DROP on Nifty Gateway which not only provides the possibility of purchasing the magazine in NFT format to access exclusive contents but also of acquiring a special physical CRYPTO ART MONOGRAPH with a cover created by a great crypto artist.

Every first Monday of the month – starting from 9 January 2023 – it will be possible to access the two DROS:

    • The first with the cover celebrating the artist of the month and giving access to the digital magazine;
    • The second with an unpublished NFT by the same artist associated with the limited edition physical book.

THE NEW ISSUE OF THE NFT MAGAZINE

The contents of the new issue of The NFT Magazine are extensive and unpublished. It starts with an in-depth analysis of important news that characterized the last weeks of 2022 and will have repercussions in the months to come.

Without forgetting the most striking cases that has shaken the crypto world and beyond: FTX.

There is no shortage of rankings dedicated to future drops to keep under control (and why) chosen by the experts, together with the top gainer and loser of the NFT collections.

Focus also on the market, to understand how the trend of cryptocurrencies in a moment of bear market is continuing to strongly influence that of NFT collections.

ANGIE TAYLOR PROTAGONIST OF THE NFT MAGAZINE

In view of the first drop of 2023 – scheduled for January 9, 2023 – the absolute protagonist of the collector’s cover is the great crypto artist Angie Taylor.

Artist, sculptor and animator, Angie Taylor studied sculpture in the early 1980s.

She became an Adobe animator, illustrator, and demo artist in the 1990s, before giving it all up to pursue her craft.

Create immersive VR and AR projects, digital sculpture, illustration and animation.

His current creative process begins in VR where he models 3D characters and scenes. These are hand painted and textured on the iPad before being rendered in 3D.

His work explores themes of identity, isolation and otherness – often championing life’s misfits and highlighting their struggles.
His highly distinctive style is difficult to pin down, but has been described by some as Punk-Expressionism – a unique mix of punk art, naive art, pop art and expressionist aesthetics. It also explores its own challenges with neurodiversity.

Angie has been a punk since 1976 and a digital artist since 1987.

CRYPTO ART MONOGRAPH WITH ANGIE TAYLOR

Angie Taylor will be the first artist featured in “ Crypto Art Monograph ” the first monograph published by The NFT Magazine and curated every month by an internationally renowned guest curator.

The editorial staff of The NFT Magazine continues the research and curatorship work on the world of Crypto Art, still to be discovered, and reveals the great protagonists of the contemporary art scene more than ever.

The Crypto Art Monographs become real books to collect, short monographs with unpublished texts to discover the artist protagonist of the publication, but not only: the cover is unique, specially created for the monograph and reproduced on the cover of the book and in NFT format collectible.

THE CURATOR OF THE MONOGRAPHS: FANNY LAKOUBAY

The first CRYPTO ART MONOGRAPH dedicated to Angie Taylor is curated by Fanny Lakoubay , a digital art consultant and curator based in Buenos Aires, with 14 years of experience in art, technology and finance.
With his LAL ART Advisory team, he supports institutional, corporate and private clients, who wish to enter the NFT space. She is also involved in many NFT projects, such as The Blockchain Art Directory (BAD 2.0), We Are Museums, GreenNFT and more. Previously, he participated in some of the pioneering NFT projects (MoCDA, New Art Academy, CADAF, Editional App, Snark.art) and worked with larger organizations (RadicalxChange Foundation, Christie’s Auction House, Artnet, Societe Generale Bank). He holds an MBA from HEC Paris Business School and a degree in Art History.

    Isorropia Homegallery presents EPTA

    Isorropia Homegallery presents EPTA

ISORROPIA HOMEGALLERY presents EPTA – SETTE, an exhibition project that investigates the forms of art in relation to the increasingly phygital contemporaneity, between real and digital.

Marjan Moghaddam, Still from GAIA of The Metaverse

Within the evocative setting of the Basilica of San Celso in Milan, the EPTA – SEVEN exhibition will open on 11 January 2023, which investigates the forms of art in dialogue with the contemporary digital world, through seven artists selected by ISORROPIA HOMEGALLERY on the occasion of the first international virtual art award Art Rights Prize.

The exhibition can be visited at the Basilica of San Celso from 11 January to 3 February 2023, where the works of the artists Federica Belli, Federica Cogo, Salma Eltoukhy, Alex Frost, Christine Kettaneh, Marjan Moghaddam and Paolo Treni – selected on the occasion of art prize Art Rights Prize – interact with the evocative environments of a sacred place.

The works selected from painting, photography, video art and NFT – albeit different in terms of artistic medium – are united by the very essence of the elements that determine the birth of a work of art.

    THE EXHIBITION’S TITLE “EPTA”

The term EPTA – from which the exhibition takes its title – from the Greek “SEVEN”, not only represents the number of selected artists, but is a direct reference to the very elements of art, including digital art.

The seven elements of art are Line, Shape, Size, Space, Texture, Value and Color. Each artist – in his own way – makes use of them.

The works on display by Federica Belli present a female presence integrated in nature, in constant tension between their shadows and their brilliant sensitivity. The intense colors, in accordance with the investigation of private space and its details, make mysterious the works of Federica Cogo, which leads into interior spaces, almost metaphysical, where the angles become witnesses of the encounter between visible and invisible.

Salma Eltoukhy‘s “visual poems” lead us into the most intimate and emotional dimension, who in her visual diary explores the universe of written language, a world where letters take on the character of identity of the human being.

Alex Frost‘s series of hypnotic video works, the grotesque of contemporary consumerism is linked to winking shapes and colors in commonly used products, specially designed to attract the human eye.

At the basis of Christine Kettaneh‘s works lines, shapes, dimensions and space – vertical and horizontal – are syncopated to the extreme, the result of an investigation into the evolution of the movement of the human body over time based on electromagnetism.

The sinuous bodies of Marjan Moghaddam, pioneer of Net Art and NFTs, take shape thanks to digital, redefining the very concept of form and democratizing the exhibition spaces that are hacked by her 3D animated “Ladies”.

Finally, the different material aspects of Light, Natural or Artificial, are the means by which in the two-dimensional works of Paolo Treni you get to the pure three-dimensional form contextualized in space, where all the elements of art, coexist in close symbiosis between light, color and shape.

The evocative setting of the Basilica of San Celso thus welcomes defined lines that are transformed into space and create a new undefined dimension.

Bitget airdrops seed NFT with USD 2M rewards to FTT holders during World Cup

Bitget airdrops seed NFT with USD 2M rewards to FTT holders during World Cup

The exchange sees users growth while the market sentiment seeks a safe and compliant trading platform

Leading global cryptocurrency exchange, Bitget launches its Seed NFTs collection, together with attractive rewards and various perks, and will airdrop NFTs to qualified FTT holders amidst the World Cup period. With a reward pool of close to USD 2 million, this NFT collection is a part of the initiatives implemented by Bitget to assist users affected by FTX’s collapse. With the aim of providing investors with financial aid and, at the same time, attempting to rebuild their confidence in crypto with its core values in mind: integrity and transparency.

Bitget’s latest airdrop for FTT holders is devised with two parts: first, the eligible users will have to connect their wallet to claim the Seed NFTs on OpenSea, and the NFT holder can then claim the rewards package on Bitget’s platform. The package includes free trial funds, a 50% discount on BTC and ETH purchases, airdrop privileges of BGB and other exclusive perks. FTT holders with a balance of at least 10 FTT at the time of snapshot would be qualified to claim their NFT airdrop to unlock their allocated rewards according to their NFT rarity.

There are 10,000 Seed NFTs in total for eligible holders, with the rarity ranking from Beginner to Legendary to unlock different reward packages. NFT holders are also qualified to enter the BGB Bounty program, in which participants may earn up to 8,888 $BGB, the native token on Bitget’s platform. BGB holders can enjoy various privileges, such as trading popular tokens with exclusive discounts, transaction fee discounts, and opportunities to join Launchpad with exclusive access to high-quality tokens at an early stage.

Gracy Chen, Managing Director of Bitget, comments, “The crypto world is still under tremendous stress of the aftermath caused by the demise of FTX, as FTX users and FTT holders are still doubtful about their assets stored on the platform, as well as the ripple effect affecting various verticals in the industry. The desire of users to invest and store assets on a secure platform has seen its high, as Bitget has witnessed an increase in users since the incident. In light of the surging demands, Bitget launches this Seed NFT collection and dedicates efforts to building a sustainable and trustworthy environment in the Web3 ecosystem.”

Aside from the seed NFT collection, Bitget has also recently launched a USD $20M marketing campaign with Messi amidst the World Cup period. The company has prepared a brand film, multiple giveaways and exclusive rewards with World Cup-themed activities, giving out up to 1 Million BGB and a jersey signed by Lionel Messi himself.

In light of the current bleak economic situation, Bitget has implemented a few initiatives to strengthen trust and show credibility to consumers, including the launch of a 5 million Builders’ Fund and the increase of the Protection Fund size to USD 300 million. The exchange has also announced expanding its global strategy with a registered entity in Seychelles lately, as well as adjusting its hiring plan to a team of 1200 by Q1 2023.

Andrea Bonaceto on display at MEET between art, music and poetry

Andrea Bonaceto on display at MEET between art, music and poetry

From Tuesday 6 December 2022 MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan presents the works of Andrea Bonaceto, artist and exponent of the blockchain world, in an exhibition itinerary curated by Luisa Ausenda which culminates in the Immersive Room with AB INFINITE 1, open to public participation.

    Andrea Bonaceto. Courtesy MEET

MEET Digital Culture Center continues its exhibition program dedicated to Digital Art.

Inside the large space, it presents the works of the artist and exponent of the Blockchain world Andrea Bonaceto, in an exhibition curated by Luisa Ausenda, which culminates in the Immersive Room with the work AB INFINITE 1 and returns to open up to the public and to transform itself again.

The MEET is thus punctuated by verses taken from the artist’s poems, the itinerary includes thematic cores of works that highlight some of the main elements of the artist’s work.

    WHO IS ANDREA BONACETO

Andrea Bonaceto is an Italian artist and entrepreneur. In recent years he has developed a visual language capable of hybridising with new digital technologies.

This is where most of the works on display come from, some of which have been exhibited internationally.

“Bonaceto is an eclectic artist, he implements mechanisms that generate value on the one hand and sustainability on the other and he does so using all the keys that the digital world makes available” – says Maria Grazia Mattei, Founder and President of MEET. “Through his work, his research and his proposals it is possible to concretely understand the new processes in progress: in a certain sense, his Art returns to being Social”.

    Andrea Bonaceto. Courtesy MEET

    THE EXHIBITION AT MEET MILAN

The exhibition itinerary occupies the entire first floor of MEET and gives the public a multifaceted image of the artist that ranges between art, music and poetry and accompanies us in experimenting with new techniques and forms of expression.

The first Gallery is dedicated to Portraits born from the collaboration with Sophia the Robot, a humanoid robot created by Hanson Robotics. To create her first work, Sophia observed several self-portraits made by Bonaceto and, thanks to a neural network, she reworked the images and produced her own self-portrait.

Continuing along the path, we find physical works that demonstrate his quality as a painter together with portraits made with an IPad: a hybridization of styles and languages. We then enter a room dedicated to Visions.

Ideas and characters on a monochrome background alternate with more abstract and figurative works. In the last Gallery that precedes the Immersive Room, we finally enter the poetic universe of the artist. The two Poems that Bonaceto integrated into NFT visual works are projected: “La Finestra” and “Waiting for a train in Palmira”.

The work commissioned by Corriere della Sera is also on the MEET monitors.

Bonaceto artistically interpreted the page of the 1969 newspaper announcing “Man is on the Moon” and portrayed, in his own style, the astronauts: Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins and Neil Armstrong.

    Andrea Bonaceto. Courtesy MEET

THE IMMERSIVE ROOM WITH AB INFINITE1

In the Immersive Room, AB INFINITE 1 spreads 63 meters long and returns to being a work that confronts the public.

From its publication on the site in May 2022 until the Christie’s auction where it was sold on October 13, 2022, certain sections of the work have gradually been subject to change.

The title echoes the artist’s ideal of generating a cycle that goes “AB” (from the Latin from) the infinite to the ORIGIN, symbolized by the number 1.

At MEET, thanks to 8SMICKA ART GALLERY, the Artificial Intelligence process developed by the artist is reactivated, capable of absorbing and modifying texts and images that the public will send on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #abinfinite1.

NFT the new complete guide by Amelia Tomasicchio

Amelia Tomasicchio presents a practical and exhaustive guide to fully understand all the secrets of the NFT Non Fungible Token.

Copertina del libro di Amelia Tomasicchio

NFTs, the non-fungible tokens that are talked about so much, took hold in 2021, after a millionaire sale by the American artist Beeple

But NFTs originated much earlier, and are not only linked to the art world, but they are also giving an epochal turning point.

This blockchain-based technology has multiple applications and enormous potential, largely still to be explored: from gaming to metaverses, from collecting to marketing, from social media to publishing.

Amelia Tomasicchio, digital marketing expert, co-founder and director of the online magazine “The Cryptonomist”, retraces in this book the history of NFTs, their economic implications as unique and non-interchangeable assets, their technological foundations, dilemmas and opportunities in digital markets, the links with cryptocurrencies, the stories of the protagonists and companies he has met in the sector.

The result is an agile, practical and complete guide that will allow you to discover all the secrets of NFTs, the true technological revolution of the blockchain after cryptocurrencies.

Clouds in Martin Lukas Ostachowski’s NFTs are much more

Clouds in Martin Lukas Ostachowski’s NFTs are much more

Martin Lukas Ostachowski is one of the 50 artists featured in “CRYPTO ART – Begins”, the first NFT book that tells the history and evolution of Crypto Art

“CRYPTO ART – Begins” tells the exciting beginnings and evolution of the Crypto Arte through the history and work of 50 of the best artists in the world who contributed to its birth and are still an active part of the present and future of its revolution with their projects NFT

CRYPTO ART – Begins presents Martin Lukas Ostachowski

Martin Lukas Ostachowski is a crypto artist who works with new media, but also a historian of crypto art who loves to educate others about the blockchain.

His clouds are much more than his favorite subject, they represent his ever-changing identity and his beloved crypto universe.

    WHO IS MARTIN LUKAS OSTACHOWSKI?

The life of Martin Lukas Ostachowski is marked by two events that changed the trajectory of his life: the first transfer from Poland to Germany to escape from Communism and a second migration to Canada in 2013.

From 2015 he begins to identify himself as an artist and to produce physical art. The interest in digital art is always present, but it only takes shape when the advent of Blockchain technology allows a real market to be born.

In 2018 Ostachowski starts creating his first NFTs. The potential for the artists of this new market becomes his new passion to the point of pushing him to become the first historian of Crypto Art.

    HIS ART

Martin Lukas Ostachowski is a cosmopolitan. The absence of roots led him to conceive humans as citizens of the world, which is reflected in his art.

Symbol of all his air travel and icon of his art, the cloud – first studied through photos and videos and then introduced in his production.

The clouds become a symbol of his identity. Their immateriality, inconsistency and transience are a perfect representation of the artist’s inner feeling.

Clouds that take on different meanings across different cultures, but which – at the same time – as much as no other form are familiar and reassuring to us.

A symbolism that also lends itself to the blockchain universe, which – like a cloud carries water – collects the hopes of society for a better future, well-being and socio-economic system.

“Ephemeral Thoughts on Digital Wallets” (2020) is an NFT that explores the value of digital assets. A generative view of the words that make up the seed phrase of the digital wallet .

A visual representation of the reflection on how the blockchain network is based on common hope as a factor of attribution of value. A poetic vision, but not for this untruthful, of the crypto system that gives us hope for the future.

THE CURATOR ELEONORA BRIZI SAYS ABOUT MARTIN LUKAS OSTACHOWSKI

Eleonora Brizi, curator and founder of Breezy Art, who curated for The NFT Magazine the selection of the 50 artists featured in the book “Crypto Art Begins” writes about Martin Lukas Ostachowski:

“Artist and Crypto Art Historian Martin L. Ostachowski loves educational art because he believes that basic understanding of crypto as a technology will be crucial to society. As technology becomes more and more a part of our environment, it will be essential for future inclusion, so be open to it.”
