MILAN GALLERY COMMUNITY<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Artsy launches the “Milan Gallery Community” which involves Italian galleries committed to enhancing contemporary art in the world.<\/em><\/h3>\n

Artsy presents the new project “Artsy Community”<\/b> which starts in Milan, one of the capitals of reference for art, but also one of the cities most affected in Italy by the health emergency.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Artsy<\/a><\/span>, the online platform dedicated to the discovery of new artists, galleries and the preview of art fairs, has grown over time, boasting users from 46 countries divided into six continents with partners who claim to make sales in five figures and up to $100,000 with an average distance between collector and seller of 3,800 km.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The online art market is growing steadily, with 2019 figures at \u20ac5.9 billion, accounting for 9% of global sales of $64.1 billion. <\/b>In fact, well before the COVID-19 emergency, Artsy recorded a 150% increase in sales volume for 2018-2019<\/b> compared to previous years, due not only to the immediacy of use but also to the visibility of artwork prices, a<\/b> sign that the lack of transparency on these data is a factor to be overcome. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

To give new vitality to the market Artsy<\/b> has launched throughout the month of July the project Milan Gallery Community<\/b><\/span><\/a>, a program to promote contemporary art <\/b>that celebrates Milan as a city promoting contemporary art <\/b>in Italy and around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Milan is in fact a point of reference for art with a unique character<\/i><\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n

From the Renaissance art masterpieces that can be found in the city’s countless churches to the works of contemporary art on display in museums, foundations and dedicated institutions, the city’s art history is in constant dialogue with the lively contemporary scene.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The initiative, launched on July 1 and active until August 1, 2020<\/b>, provides for the participation of seventeen exhibition realities of the Lombard capital that present the work of internationally renowned artists.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Among them APALAZZOGALLERY, CARDI GALLERY, Clima, Galleria Raffaella Cortese, Cortesi Gallery, kaufmann repetto, Monica De Cardenas, Massimo De Carlo, Gi\u00f3 Marconi, Galleria Massimo Minini, Francesca Minini, Francesco Pantaleone, Lia Rumma, Schiavo Zoppelli Gallery, Galleria Federico Vavassori, VISTAMARESTUDIO, ZERO…<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Each space promotes the work of at least one artist representing a total of twenty-nine names such as Yael Bartana, Monica Bonvicini, Agostino Bonalumi, Lucio Fontana, Allison Katz, William Kentridge and Patrick Tuttofuoco to<\/b> name but a few.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The objective of Milan Gallery Community is to enhance the work that has distinguished these galleries that have supported and promoted contemporary art worldwide with commitment.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

But why was Italy selected as the first Artsy Community?<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Dustyn Kim, Chief Revenue Officer of Artsy said in an interview with Arteconomy: “We wanted to highlight Italy, especially the galleries in Milan, for our first Artsy Community, following important feedback from leading galleries like Massimo De Carlo, who wanted to use our marketplace to show the depth and breadth of Milan as a global and diversified center of Post-War and Contemporary art. The Italian art ecosystem has been hit hard by the pandemic, and with the focus on the biggest art market centers, such as New York, London and Hong Kong, we felt it was important to launch this initiative and provide our support in Italy”<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The NetShow therefore does not only want to have a commercial nature<\/b>, but tries to be an opportunity to establish relationships and collaborations aimed at sharing the beauty of art <\/b>by relaunching the art market through online.<\/span><\/p>\n
