13 Crypto Artists have made NFT works for Netflix<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

“This Is The Robbery”\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(in Italian\u00a0“A shot a work of art: the big heist at the Museum”\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>) is the new miniseries\u00a0Netflix\u00a0<\/strong>which tells the true story of the largest\u00a0art theft<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in the world made in 1990 at the expense of ‘\u00a0Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston for a value of stolen works of over 500 million dollars.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The four-episode Netflix miniseries, directed by\u00a0Colin Barnicle\u00a0<\/strong>, tells the clues, red herrings and speculations that have characterized the investigation of this still unsolved mystery, which spares no twists, most recently\u00a0Netflix’s entry into the world crypto and NFT\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Netflix has commissioned\u00a013 Crypto Artists\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0rework the works lost\u00a0<\/strong>with the theft, transforming them into\u00a0NFTs\u00a0<\/strong>put on sale until\u00a0April 21st\u00a0<\/strong>on the\u00a0Knownorigin.io<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0platform\u00a0: the proceeds will be used to support the artistic careers of the crypto artists involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But how did the most famous theft in the art world take place?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Half a million dollars in works of art stolen in 81 minutes\u00a0<\/strong>and never found again: after thirty years the mystery that still surrounds the famous theft of the\u00a0Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston has<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0not been solved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum was founded in 1896 at the behest of Isabella Stewart Gardner <\/strong>, a collector and patron <\/strong>who traveled the world buying many works of art, then designing a house-museum <\/strong>to house them all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The museum has a collection of more than 2,500 works <\/strong>– including tapestries and sculptures – of European, Asian and American art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the night of March 18, 1990, at 1:24 am <\/strong>, two thieves disguised as police officers enter the museum and manage to steal thirteen masterpieces worth over half a billion dollars.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the stolen paintings there are also canvases and sketches by Manet, Degas, Rembrandt and Vermeer <\/strong>to which \u201cConcerto a tre\u201d belongs, with an estimated value of 200 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the offer of a $\u00a05 million reward\u00a0<\/strong>, none of the works were ever recovered and no one was ever arrested for the theft.\u00a0The streaming platform Netflix has thus decided to enter\u00a0the NFT market by<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0hiring\u00a013 crypto artists called to imagine the stolen works in a digital key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
