David Young is one of the 50 artists featured in “CRYPTO ART – Begins”, the first NFT book that tells the story and evolution of Crypto Art<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCRYPTO ART – Begins\u201d <\/strong><\/a>tells the exciting beginnings and evolution of the <\/a>Crypto Arte <\/a>through the history and work of 50 of the best artists in the world <\/strong>who contributed to its birth and are still an active part of the present and future of its revolution with their projects <\/a>NFT <\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CRYPTO ART – Begins presents David Young<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

David Young <\/strong><\/a>is a digital artist who experiments with artificial intelligence <\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His projects offer a new perspective on the use of this technology. Instead of exploiting it for its efficiency in reproducing our thoughts, perhaps we can learn to listen to what it tells us about us that we do not know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHO IS DAVID YOUNG?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After earning a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of California <\/a>and a master’s in visual studies from the Media Lab at the <\/a>Massachusetts Institute of Technology <\/a>, David Young’s career continues in the direction of art and technological innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist’s work follows the track of emerging technologies by incorporating the use of the first supercomputers into creative practice, up to artistic and innovative initiatives of global weight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David Young’s research meets artificial intelligence which becomes an integral part of his creative process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HIS ART<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI is the most representative technology of the voracious expansion that characterizes our time. It could not exist and function efficiently without an unimaginable amount of data that only the powerful who manage the information can provide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, artificial intelligence learns from us and as a mirror of our culture it adopts all the biases of our society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

David Young’s art is born from a push against the current and he wonders if it is possible, looking at this technology through the search for beauty, to know an aspect that has nothing to do with efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we want to convey something to artificial intelligence, it is a duty to teach it the only human taste for beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is this reflection that inspires his \u201cLearning Nature\u201d project <\/strong><\/a>(2018 – 2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Young taught his computer to draw flowers using artificial intelligence and machine learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead of being fed an endless stream of data collected from the Internet, the computer mind has been referenced by images of the flowers growing on the artist’s farm in Bovina, New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result are not realistic reproductions of the flowers, but this is not the point of the artist’s experimentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the empathy that only a human can have for something he has created, David Young gives AI the freedom to imagine its own unique version of the natural world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eleonora Brizi, curator and founder of Breezy Art <\/strong><\/a>, who curated for The NFT Magazine <\/strong><\/a>the selection of the 50 artists featured in the book “Crypto Art Begins” writes about David Young:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c David Young’s point of view on technology that emerged during the interview was compelling. Among many reflections, he also questioned our cultural obsession with the new, the idea that technological progress always leads to the best. We have to ask ourselves if the technology is really better than what came before <\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
