{"id":9078,"date":"2020-03-26T15:01:12","date_gmt":"2020-03-26T15:01:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/migrate1.artrights.me\/come-trasportare-unopera-darte\/"},"modified":"2020-04-09T16:40:01","modified_gmt":"2020-04-09T16:40:01","slug":"how-to-transport-an-artwork","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artrights.me\/en\/how-to-transport-an-artwork\/","title":{"rendered":"How to transport an artwork"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The transport of an artwork is one of the most delicate phases to face, because it exposes the work to a series of possible damages and a high risk that can compromise its physical and therefore economic integrity.<\/h2>\n<h2>Here are the main conditions for transporting an artwork<\/h2>\n<h2><!--more--><\/h2>\n<section class=\"content-section full-width with-col cover pb-70 pb-xs-50 rella-no-margin content-section-5a71cb13dc9ff\">\n<div class=\"row vc_row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"wpb_column col-md-12\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p>Transporting an artwork means responding to a series of technical, <strong>logistical and bureaucratic fulfilments that begin with a careful intake investigation of the work, in its physical and material components.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The diagnostic study includes:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The evaluation of the <strong>microclimatic conditions of the original exhibition site<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The study of the <strong>conditions of the support, of the colors and of the frames<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The analysis of<strong> crates and packaging<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The resistance of the work to<strong> mechanical stress that can occur during transport (twisting, impact, jolt)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is why<strong> specialized companies<\/strong> guarantee the transport conditions of a work &#8220;in a workmanlike manner&#8221;, even for long journeys in inaccessible and climatically extreme areas, from glacial to tropical desert areas.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing can be left to chance, improvised or managed by staff and companies that cannot<strong> guarantee specialized transport standards for art.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After passing the analyzes, the works travel by land, by sea or by air, depending on their nature, in<strong> cases and packaging<\/strong>, often specially made, which have different <strong>characteristics and can be standard, air-conditioned, fireproof or for sculptures; so also the packaging<\/strong>, therefore the internal materials in direct contact with the work, will be of different types such as soft, semi-rigid or rigid.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">The transport conditions of the work, as well as the type of packaging to be adopted, must be recorded in the <strong>Condition Report<\/strong>, a document prepared by an <strong>expert restorer, who certifies the state of conservation of the work of art<\/strong> which accompanies all the photographic material of the report object.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, in the transport phase, the professional in charge must be in possession of the <em><strong>DDT, Transport Document,<\/strong> <\/em>which will contain all the details of the movement, such as the identification data of the carrier, the sender and the recipient, as well as an indication of quantity, dimensions , weights and nature of the boxes transported.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>And you, are you ready to find out how to transport an artwork?<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The transport of an artwork is one of the most delicate phases to face, because it exposes the work to a series of possible damages and a high risk that can compromise its physical and therefore economic integrity.
